A spectacular open-air venue on the sea, like minded folk and best of all… quality sights and sounds. That’s what the Beano On The Sea is all about. Come together and enjoy twelve bands over three days where it’s less ‘X Factor’ more ‘feel good factor’!
The Beano on the Sea logo lock-up is influenced by perhaps the most famous festival graphic design of all time, the Woodstock logo. The artwork is also draws inspiration from 1960’s decals applied to Vespas during the height of the mod movement.
The typography used gives the logo a clean, fresh feel and works in perfect harmony with the more classically styled symbol. This pairing creates a professional finish which appeals to a large demographic whilst not feeling like a corporate brand.
The wave running through the middle of the symbol represents a guitar’s fret board. The symbol also works on a variety of other levels. It symbolizes tidal wash hitting the beach as viewed from above, the yellow part also represents the sun setting or rising from the horizon, all of which pays homage to the festival’s setting.
The symbol is aesthetically well balanced and crafted in such a way to loosely represent a ying-yang to promote good vibes.
The alternative lock up is constructed so it suits all paper based collateral e.g. invoices, letterheads, business cards, comp slips etc… It also works optimally for responsive web design allowing the switch between itself and the master lock-up seamlessly creating a diverse and adaptable brand.
